Creating the Nights of Summer has been an interesting, challenging, and fascinating journey. One of the more challenging decisions was how to present it. Eventually, I felt that because of the nature of this story, it would work best when presented in a non-traditional format called digital storytelling or transmedia, aka multi-media.
It's been said that transmedia storytelling uses multiple media platforms to tell a narrative across time. I also think of it as three-dimensional, immersing the reader beyond the printed word, using technology around us everyday.
I've been shaping this project in my limited free time for a number of years. I had hoped to complete this creative project a while back, but the changed tone of the online environment, plus numerous other unexpected interruptions have slowed down progress on this project. I putter with it when I have time.
